  1. From Avon(NC) to Hood River(OR)

    Trip Reports
We try to sail as much as we can in Roosevelt (my favorite spot)m, but we do most of our sailing at The Hatchery, Rowena and the occasional Wall. We also sail the Easterlies at Stevenson. My wife and I have been sailing in The Gorge for 20 years, we try to be friendly ;), so I guess a lot of...
  2. Coolant smell/leak

    Promaster General Discussion Forum
You know what? It worked for me. The delearship couldn't find the leak, I insisted that there was a slow leak, showed the service manager some posts from this forum so he could see that my problem was not an isolated one. And I got a new radiator, under warranty. And that was 5 years ago. I...
  3. A merger of Fiat & Renault?

    Ram Promaster News
Sounds like a great idea for both parties: FCC gets technology form Renault (electric and self-driven cars) and Renault gets a network of dealers in North America. Hope it happens and we can get the Renault Trafic, a very fine van. Here's a raving review on the Trafic...

But I don't see you image, unless it's supposed to be a circled minus sign
  5. Coolant smell/leak

    Promaster General Discussion Forum
I am surprised that the coolant leak problem is still around 5 years later. Mine ( an early 2014) had a leaking radiator, along with the noisy front brakes and suspension bushings. I would have taught that FCA would have fixed these common issues by now. Other than that, I haven't had any...
  6. test image posting

Hosting images with google sounds a like idea (you know that the company won't fade away with yor images). I just tried it and, in deed, it doesn't seam to be trivial:
  7. Tinypic photo test

Forgot about postimg! I just checked it out, still works, still free and my pictures for my build thread (Windsurfing Mobile) are still there after 5 years. it's a secured hosting (https), so it works here. The past few years I have been using my own web storage (I have a web site), but my...

No, I had it done in Montreal, Boulevard Dodge Chrysler.
  11. Conversion DIY vs Hiring a company, savings?

    Promaster Builds and Conversions
Maybe there is a middle ground between DIY and having it done by a specialized shop. I am not very good with my hands and don't have all the tools needed so I found a friend that was willing to do the work I am not very good at.. I assisted him and at $25/hour, it cost me $1500 of labor and I...
  12. From Avon(NC) to Hood River(OR)

Not that young, 65. :) Fall maybe best for fishing in OBX, but it seams that it's more likely to get caught in an hurricane, no? Here's a little van story just for you ;) A guy I know had a Sprinter for 2 years, but he had so much trouble with it, he decided to trade it for a Ford Transit...

  14. Another Cheap Chinese 12V Refrigerator - Ausranvik APR-50B

    Promaster General Discussion Forum
Well, my Engel is on it's six season, two friends of mine's had theirs for a bit longer, no issues yet. Quiet, efficient, well build...I would recommend it, even if it's not cheap.
  15. Another Cheap Chinese 12V Refrigerator - Ausranvik APR-50B

    Promaster General Discussion Forum
By reading you review, I can only see 2 points where the Engel would win over the Costway: my Engel is probably a bit quieter and a has an almost unbreakable mechanical closing device. But is it worth the $700 extra? I doubt it. Anyways, good review, thanks!
  16. Driver side door wiring diagram

    Electronics
A wild guess too: the wrapped wires on the gray connector on page 5 looks about the same size as the one that goes into the driver's door.
  17. Driver side door wiring diagram

    Electronics
It seams that the PM engineers have a problem coming up with wiring that can survive door motion. I had to change the wires at the backdoor hinges, for the license plate bulbs and the door lock. I didn't need the wire diagram, just replaced the faulty section, making sure I was matching both...
  18. Door sensors

    Electronics
So, if I understand, you just connected the yellow and green wires together, is that it? If so, that would make sense to me.
  19. Tempature reading

    Promaster General Discussion Forum
Well, that's great to read, the 10K resistor solution for fixed temperature reading is a viable solution, then.
  20. Tempature reading

    Promaster General Discussion Forum
I think that the ambient temperature is used in cold weather. I have read that the motor won't start when it's too cold (-30C/-22F or so) and the idle runs higher below freezing temperatures (1,100 RPM instead of 800 RPM).
