      Because I actually listened to KOV, but won’t actually admit it 🙄, in our 2021 build I installed a “switch” to turn on/off the water pump.

      In our 2018 build, to turn the water pump off, we would have to pull the fuse. No hard to do, but after thinking about a leak in the plumbing & the pump being always charging the plumbing lines, I figured it is pretty easy to have a switch.

      So I choose the Blue Sea;

      The wiring to this switch is pretty easy & has the option of the LED light coming on or being off when the circuit is closed. I chose to have the LED light on when the pump was on.

      We still forget to turn the pump off after using the kitchen faucet occasionally 😳.

      Hi,
      We put a little toggle switch for the pump right next to the sink, and we now use it to turn the water flow off and on. When you want a cup of water, put cup under faucet, flip switch to on, water flows, when cup approaches full, flip switch off. We like it better than turning the faucet handle off and on - I think it saves some water as its more precise.

      Like @tgregg & @Roach711 referenced; that switch should only have “positive” (or red wired) connected to it & not “negative” or “black” or “ground”

      You switch the positive side of the power from the battery (the fused side).

      Now, to complicate things, the switch I have wired to my water pump has a “ring LED indicator light” associated on it, so I actually have a “black” or “negative” wire to the switch, but that is only to get the LED light to work on the switch.

      As @tgregg noted, please post the wiring diagram for your switch & we can be of more help
