      From this discussion and other threads, I think I'll be adding an inexpensive 12v charger and jumper cables to to my recovery kit.

      Just an FYI. That charger - like many good lead based chemistry chargers - has a pulsed mode for removing deposits.

      The only downside of that normally good feature is that it makes it not for use with Li based batteries in case that is ever important.
