Why would a microwave oven need an exterior vent?

My thinking was to remove the damper and leave it open all the time.. then, where it enters the van (thru rear door at the top) add a wooden cover with an inside door(damper) that could be opened or closed easily!

Good Stuff

Do not want roof perforations.
Thinking of a fan on the back door. Did some searching, found this.
Horse trailer vents could work.
