I received the Westin 27-6145 boards, and the Owens 10-1216 bracket kit from Amazon last week. When I went to mount the brackets, it was obvious that some hardware was missing. I got the right brackets, but I think I got the wrong hardware kit. (see pic). I should have 2 fasteners per bracket for a total of 20, and only got 9. (The fasteners that attach the brackets to the PM frame). I got the long/long bracket kit as I am undecided if I want a short or long board on the drivers side.
When I contacted the Amazon supplier about the Owens kit, they said the Owens bracket are only for Owens boards, and offered me a refund. I am going to contact Owens directly tomorrow to see if I can get the correct hardware so I don't have to return anything. As stated previously, the brackets are fine, I just need the correct hardware.

Good news!
I talked to a very nice customer service rep named Jeanette at Owens today.
She agreed with me that there was a mistake in the hardware kit that I received, and that the proper kit and installation instructions was on its way to me. I couldn't ask for any better service!

I am adding this to the slider...
Attwood Corporation 2061-5 Over-molded Grip Flexible Grab Handle

But maybe for the front passenger door a handle secured by VHB tape would work better. I think Hein has something that would work...ebay -
