I received a quote for an extended warranty from Ram for my 2015 Promaster diesel. I am putting 4,000 miles per year. They would extend it to 8 years 60,000 miles for $2,700. I am debating this. Apparently there is still $150 charge when you take it in for warranty work. Anyone else buy an extended warranty?
Extended warranties are big time money makers for the sellers, that's why they offer them. My policy is to NEVER buy any kind of extended warranty for anything and in the end you will come out ahead!
Of course, the second you buy one you've lost your lifetime advantage and might just as well but them all.
I have a sportsmobile upfit on my 2015 Diesel with AC/stove/fridge/bed -- so the upfit is worth almost as much as the engine etc -- so does it make sense to extend the drive-train warranty? I still owe $26,000 on it, so I plan to keep it for at least 5 more years. Just asking because my SUV just blew its engine at a cost of $9,000. I see I will need to check if the warranty won't cover because of the camper van upfit -- though I don't consider it a motorhome not sure what the warranty company will say.
There was a Jeep dealer in Michigan I think that posted here about wanting to sell many many extended warranties for RAM vehicles, some forum members backed him up on best price and a pain-free experience....
quick search revealed nothing, does someone remember the details?
I did the 7-year 77,000 mile warranty and it paid for itself with a new A/C compressor and rear brakes when I paid them to bleed the brake system and they sheared off the bleeder screws.... (oh yeah, figured it would happen, bad juju posts here about that).
