RD, sounds like you got a lot done after getting back home!

Inspired by all of the vent fans at our recent meeting, I decided it was time....

First I decided to cut off the extra tabs for the Maxxair cover that I will never install. Dremel and sanding and it's ready. Can't order the 4500 without the tabs!

Then the hole.... tough for a short guy to reach the farthest cut from the back, but I got it. Fit on the first try.

Temporarily in place, while I wait for the butyl (gonna try just filling the valleys with extra butyl layers) and black Eternabond tape (my current plan) to arrive, plus I want to paint the base black (you know... it's gotta look good when I see the van from a 3rd floor hotel room!).

Now, for the moment of truth!!!!!

AND...... IT FITS!

When I take the plastic and foam off the dome, I figure I'll have about 1 1/2" clearance on the carport with the tires full at the closest point to the carport ceiling... blood pressure slowly settling back to normal...

As long as I don't go for a ride in the rain, I'm good for now... more to follow...

Working on the van, and my website about it! Please visit www.empowersites.com/edsvan or here on the forum

Nice work Eddie. It has been busy and mostly my wallet has been way too busy, but as KOV says there are no moths left in there as the credit cards are smoking. These expensive seat bases and the swivel sent my cost for my conversion over $5,500.
