So service engine light came on and I assumed it was oil change time. Dealer calls me and says mice ate sensor.... oh and converter happens to be bad as well. They charged me $320 for sensor and warrantied the converter. Ever happened to you? 2016 Promaster City
I've seen this same scenario play out more than a few times lately at auto dealers service centers... as in a charge for a rodent induced damage along with a nod to some other warranty item that was magnanimously covered.
Maybe I'm just the suspicious un-trusting type but I see a trend here. The auto manufacturers keeps the dealers on a short leash for warranty repairs... I think it's just like the old ADP charge they use to put on the sticker... (oh ADP = Additional Dealer Profit) I call BS, but that's how I roll, car dealers have a "Tell" when they're lying .... their lips are moving.
Could be that the mouse taking out the O2 sensor made it run rich, and that damaged the catalytic converter. Many warranties only cover manufacturing defects, so in a way you may have gotten a bit of a break, since they warranted a downstream part.
