I have a similar program problem. I thought I read I could delay headlight shut off after leaving and locking. cant get that to happen like the book either. I read that book front to back. Lots of unfamiliar functions and way it operates when compared to the typical domestic van. like the lighter going off with the key for example. but hey, my clock is still flashing on my VCR!

On the same line - Anyone know if the key fob on a 2015 Promaster City can be set to only unlock the driver's door on the first push? A lady alone may need a quick escape - and unlocking all the doors at once is a safety issue in some cases.... Manual is useless in this regard; tells me the obvious (push the button, unlock the front doors) but on mine (purchased used) all doors - front, side, and cargo - unlock on the first push. Any sequences to reset this? I know on some cars you run a sequence of opening and closing doors and locking and unlocking to program the fob... Thank you.

Order it at the dealer, precut to your VIN. Cost should be $115 + $35 to program to your van. DAMHIK. They will need all the fobs when the programing is being done. I think this is about the best cost you can do but some lock specialists may be able to do this. My dealer was great. Why would you want to avoid the dealer?? Mine has free coffee, shuttle, magazines, TV, pleasant folks to deal with, etc. If yours doesn’t find another.

Thanks RD - I just have this pre-conceived notion that anything from the dealer is jacked up in price.. Alas, I just ordered one from the dealer yesterday, and it was almost $200 with programming. In a week of looking I could not find a 3rd party who sold these keys. I'd still like an extra valet key or two, not even my dealer could make just those for me, only the full programmable key for the $200.. It was interesting to note all they needed was the last 8 digits of my VIN, which is visible from the outside, so anyone could theoretically order my vehicle's key.

Yes but it won’t start your van! That will only work once it is at the dealer, you have your other fobs and presumably they know it is you, the owner, that is getting them programed. I too asked a dealer here in AZ about programing and they said $85 so I would have spent the $200 too but a call to my dealer in NH and it was $35 so I waited a month until we returned and had it done there. Shop around or negotiate, its a 20 minute job I believe? When you order a van 2 extra keys and fobs are $125, a bargain I guess. We had never lost a key in 50+ years of ownership so I didn’t order them thinking two were enough. Wife’s purse left in a rest area bathroom, returned in 15 minutes= everything gone! Huge hassle with the ID cards, credit cards, keys, and the $20 she had, which was probably all they really took before tossing it in the garbage somewhere.

I only received one key with my van because they lost one. I told them to give me two more with
fobs and one without and to comp me the programing of the extra fob for my trouble. One key with fob was $110 one without fob was $64. They ask about $50 to program.

If it don't fit get a bigger hammer
