front end knock

Anybody have their promaster front end knock when making a u turn if I fully turn the wheels to one side it has a good knock , I think its to the left. But if you turn hard right it dosnt knock.. Just seeing if we all get that, I have the 156 Hightop gasser.
They do have a good turning radius for how big they are.

I do sometimes, I think the turning radius is almost too good. Someone said something about the wheels angling so far the tie rod rotates to the end of travel. I am just careful now not to turn that hard

More likely it's the CV joints. I use full lock when I must, only. Failing CV joints will also cause a steering wheel tug, tug, tug, and knock, knock, knock. The balls inside the joint seldom get sent to the extreme of their channels so they may make a noise when they do and still be OK. Like snapping your knuckles if it sounds bad do it less, even if it MAY not harm anything.

It's the outer tie rods and the rack slightly bouncing on the mounts. The above mention of the turning radius is correct, that's a lot of weight on the front end.

I have not heard a knock but I can tell it does not like it when I am fully turned making a u turn in a really tight spot.

Thanks. Also sometimes when I put it in reverse the cv knocks. It's only got 4K on it , I have it set up to do electrical so. It is heavy. I really like it but there are some quirks.

I had a knock in my suspension when moving slowly so I took it in for a check and they couldn`t find anything. It really sounded like my right CV joint. Two weeks later it started getting worse and was making the noise even when not moving. Turns out that the upper right strut bushing had fallen out. After only 14,000 km. Luckily I got it in before my 3 years of warranty was up by a week.
