I would say the converter messed up! Single wheels on the back of that are unacceptable and downright dangerous.

2014, High Top/159 WB, 2500 gas Promaster fully converted for camping.

Adding tires does not change the axle rating, it would provide stability. The rear of a Promaster is basically a trailer. You would have to think outside the box. It might be as simple as finding a trailer axle company and see if they got something. ABS sensors and the brakes would have to be dealt with. The axles come in different lengths, the spindle/hub and wheels would have to be figured out so you can have 6 tires all the same size for ABS.

If it's for a simple summer/winter changeover, I would recommend the $120-for-4 full wheel covers on the steel wheels from Ram. I added them to my PM fulltime, and they aren't alloy wheels but they do look a lot better than the caps on the steel wheels.

True but his real problem is stability not necessarily weight and dual real wheels would help in both categories. The converter/builder is at fault here not the buyer and the converter/builder should pay to make it roadworthy or buy it back! These axels will certainly carry far more weight than rated and a wider rear track with dual wheels is the simple and best solution. Personally the extra weight would bother me a bit unless it was unstable.

I’d go for this axle setup:


I have looked at a few Class B conversions and all of them seem to be made of the heaviest possible materials, lots of sawdust-and-glue composite board, OSB sheathing, Pergo composite floors, even GRANITE counters! This is nuts as a small amount of additional money (and sometimes less) the materials could be lighter, stronger, and more durable. Is this really the best they can do? Why not natural materials or nicely painted surfaces like MsNomers? Who might make a conversion I would be interested in?

Stock on my ProMaster 1500 is 5x130..........
offset is 66-68mm
center bore is 78.1
Threads are M16x1.5
width is 16x6"

I went with Tire Rack's wheels and 245-70r-16 tires from discount tire direct.....no fitment issues at all

It's been answered already but 5x130. I found the vision wheels on Walmarts website for 90. Each. Couldn't pass up something other than the ugly steel wheels.
