RV Travel newsletter

http://rvtravel.com/subscribe/

I've subscribed to this free weekly RV newsletter for years. There is a lot of good info in it and it comes out every Saturday morning.

One thing I like about it is the fact it's written to help RVers and not just a vehicle to sell overpriced junk people believe they need. It is free and, of course, anything free needs to be able to support itself either by advertising or donations and they do solicit both. Fortunately, and this is what I really value, they have no problem calling a pig a pig, advertiser or not (if you have ever had any dealings with Camping World & Good Sam Club you will understand what I'm talking about).

They do publish a lot of info that's obvious for us "old timers" but at the same time, every week I learn something new.

KOV,

Thanks for the info. Your timing is perfect!

We're hunkering down for a major snow event in CT here today... could be up to 3" before ending tonite. The RV newsletter site looks like it has a number of interesting articles worth reading as the snow descends upon us!

Snow in east TN.
We currently are enjoying 6-8 inches, and a balmy 15F.
Please remind me again the joys of winter!

Wow how could it be that bad there when it’s 70 and sunny here! This is the time of year for those of you in the cold and snow belt to travel. South Florida or South Arizona and South California are no more than a couple of days drive for any of you. Camping is cheap here, or easily free, and the nights are mid to upper 40’s the days mid 60’s or better. The sun is shining. You have a van. You may even have retirement or perhaps a few days of vacation from the overlords. You have worked hard at your jobs and your campervan. Now is the time to take advantage of that work. Break free, cast off the shackles. VACATION!

I find plowing snow at dawn in 9°f invigorating! Why would anyone want to suffer the indignation of 70° temps?

the weekly day job and bills to pay beg to differ. Now if you wish to fund my winter vacation time and bills to pay, I will be right over! I loved the short time I spent in Prescott.

I hear ya. Been there. 52 years of work, several jobs at a time sometimes, wife working, a few career changes, scrimp and save, finally kids cost gone, more scrimp, sell the house, self build, find cheaper place to live, scrimp, reach SS age, build again, reach Medicare age, finally go to the sun in winter. I understand TedV865 I can barely afford my time here. I could never afford Prescott. Find a way, you probably deserve it. Be Well.

Here is another RV newsletter I get. occasionally it gives good info and stories but if you do subscribe be aware there is plenty of misinformation included also.
http://www.doityourselfrv.com

Specifically, here is a story about a guy converting a VW van and using foil faced fiberglass insulation because it's so much better than foam! It isn't and is actually the poorest choice you can make in insulation. You can read it here and chuckle
http://www.doityourselfrv.com/man-co...l-home-wheels/

As usually take the good along with the bad and keep asking questions. One of the best things about our Promaster site is the wealth of good info available and the willingness of members to give their advice (whether asked for or not )!
