Just tried hooking my rear speakers up to my 2016 159ext to the upfit connector. No success, then found there is no fader control on the radio. Anyone know if this is a simple fix at home or do I have to take it back to the dealer?

UPDATE!! Just found the step by step to program the radio myself in post #137 . Thanks!! Great info.

so I bought some speakers but I'm not sure how to wire in the 12v. Can someone help me out? Did I buy the wrong speakers? Thanks-

If you have the upfitters connection you connect your speaker wires in there but as others have said you need to have the F/R fader on your uconnect programmed in either by the dealer or the instructions posted here that only work for some head units. The speakers don't get connected to 12v unless they have some built in powered amplifier.

Without the upfitters connection it's a bit more difficult but well documented in previous posts here on how and where to connect them.

I have the up fitters and have bought the connector and pins. Thanks for the wiring directions. Sounds like my speakers don't need the 12v. I still have to take it in to the dealer to get the fade turned on. Thanks-

Derek,

I would suggest that you try the DIY instructions in the PDF in post 137 before going to the dealer... Might save a trip, and some $$$. Some dealers have been charging $ for this "update"

Worth a try,

Thanks Ed- I tried the dyi, but it is only for the '15/'16. I have the '14. So off the the dealer. Hopefully they won't charge for it.

I went to the dealers as I couldn't find the connectors anywhere else. I was told adding the rear speakers was an aftermarket install and they don't cover that. The PMC was built in Turkey, anyone want to take a quick trip?
I then went to a local auto stereo shop and they jury-rigged the connection, and it tested OK, but still need to know how to program the radio? I read the post 137, but I don't even have an option for AUD ENG MENU. So now what? The radio is a Uconnect 5.0/RA3. I am now waiting on the stereo shop to get back to me. He has a friend who works at Dodge and is waiting on him to call back. Keep your fingers crossed. BYW, I have a 2016 Promaster City.
