Diesel oil change is 18000? I have never reset and read before this was 10068 and now it's 9842. My odometer is 8800 something. My guess is until oil change. I haven't read the diesel owners supplement so your guess is as good as mine. Dealer never gave me one and was clueless when I asked for one.

Mine is gas and it looks like your picture only substitute the word service for oil.
Now your number? Meaning? When it was re-set last?
How much life left? Next change?

Mopar has an app also (actually free-about the only thing that is from FCA)

So, for for those with gassers, what does the "service" number stand for? - counting down backwards. I am at 10,000 miles on the odometer, and the 'service' number is showing 69170. And is counting backwards towards zero. I wonder what all this means?

Owners operator manual EVIC service(diesel only), the diesel supplement offers no clue either as to what it service means. So it must be a DOOMSDAY CLOCK on the gassers. I would suggest you run when it reaches zero.

Oil analysis from Blackstone Laboratories at 16,872 miles since last oil change on my diesel PM. The van had 58,100 miles at the time of the oil sample.

Adrian, thanks for the reminder about Blackstone labs and oil analysis. I'm at 8500 miles, think I'll get one done for the heckuvit. Start a baseline, if ya will. Then another around 16000, as you've done (though yours is per oil change, I'll likely do similar once I get to that point). In the overall view, the cost of an occasional oil analysis is minor, and might just end up being good insurance (or warning).

My curiosity was if the 18,000 mile oil changes are realistic and if oil viscosity is still good at this many miles. I'm glad to see it is! Also , I was towing for the entire time GCW going down the road was 11,070lbs!

I am glad to hear the oil change is at 18,000 miles. Mine is at 14,000 miles (22,000 KM) and never got the oil change message yet. I was getting nervous about over doing it. But I guess I am ok for a while yet.

Garage
I run Conklin oil. Always run Conklin Products in all my vehicles. I've had two previous Sprinter vans with Conklin. I change the oil at 10K and also send in a sample.

I love my Promaster and hate my former a Sprinters.
